Today, April 24, 2026, Intellicare conducted Upskilling Reskilling Sessions with LIGHT Microfinance, Inc. via Zoom, participated in by LIGHT Main Office and branches nationwide.
During the morning session, Dra. Lara Monique Alcantara, MD and Resource Speaker, discussed “Measles-Rubella and Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-SIA).” She shared timely and relevant information about measles and rubella, including their causes, symptoms, possible complications, risk factors, and preventive measures such as vaccination.
Dra. Alcantara explained that measles, also known as rubeola or commonly referred to as ‘tigdas’, is a virus-induced illness that may lead to serious complications if not properly prevented or managed. She also discussed rubella, also known as German measles or three-day measles, commonly referred to as ‘tigdas-hangin’, highlighting its risks and the importance of immunization in protecting individuals and communities.
In the afternoon session, Khristel Caduyac, RN and Account Officer – Account Management Department, led the discussion on the HMO Intellicare Benefit Orientation.
She presented the details of Intellicare’s healthcare plan coverage, including benefits, utilization guidelines, and claims procedures, followed by an open forum.
The orientation served as an opportunity for LIGHT employees to gain better understanding of both preventive healthcare and the proper use of their healthcare benefits through Intellicare.
