Last Friday, June 21, 2024, PAG-IBIG hosted a significant upskilling and reskilling event at the LIGHT Microfinance, Inc. Main Office, simulcast to all its branches nationwide. This initiative aimed to enhance employees’ financial literacy and road safety awareness, empowering them with essential knowledge about PAG-IBIG’s financial products and motorcycle road safety. The event featured two main speakers: Chabelita Macabali, HDMF Sales Customer Support Assistant, and Cherryl Gonzales, Branch Manager of Suzuki Motors.
Chabelita Macabali provided valuable insights on various financial topics. She detailed the conditions for withdrawing PAG-IBIG regular savings, explaining the maturity period, eligibility criteria, and the claiming process. The Modified Pag-IBIG II (MP2) savings program was also a key focus, with Ms. Macabali highlighting its higher dividend rates and flexible savings terms. Additionally, she elaborated on the various short-term loan options available, including the Multipurpose Loan and the Calamity Loan, outlining their application processes, eligibility, and repayment terms. The benefits of the PAG-IBIG Loyalty Plus Card were showcased, emphasizing the discounts and rewards it offers at partner establishments nationwide. Ms. Macabali also introduced the Virtual PAG-IBIG Mobile App, demonstrating its features and how to create an account. This app allows members to conveniently access services, perform online transactions, apply for loans, and inquire about savings.
Cherryl Gonzales, Branch Manager of Suzuki 3S San Fernando, took the stage to discuss motorcycle road safety. Her presentation covered the Philippine motorcycle riding laws, offering a comprehensive guide to ensure riders are well-informed and compliant. She emphasized the importance of getting ready to drive, including proper gear and vehicle maintenance. Traffic laws and regulations were thoroughly explained to ensure that riders understand their responsibilities on the road. Ms. Gonzales also highlighted the principles of defensive driving, teaching LIGHT employees how to anticipate potential hazards and react safely. Her discussion aimed to reduce road accidents and promote safer driving habits among motorcycle users.
The event successfully equipped LIGHT MFI employees with the knowledge needed to make informed financial decisions and practice safe motorcycle riding.
