When Staff Movement Happens

A policy orientation via Zoom was attended by all nation-wide staff of LIGHT (Lead with Integrity and Good Governance in Helping Communities for Holistic Transformation) Microfinance, Inc. on September 9, 2022, at San Fernando, Pampanga.

Mayfe Cruzado, Head of the Staff Development Unit, explained that it is a norm for the workforce to have certain movements, particularly among branches, because of the dynamism of the organization. Because promotion involves changes in the areas covered by area officers as well as a transfer of a branch or department but with the same position, a policy on the turnover of duties and responsibilities was required to avoid problems with insufficient communication, inadequate documentation, and difficulties in tracking certain workflow changes. A turnover of duties and responsibilities orientation was conducted to ensure a smooth transition process for any form of movement, such as a relieved order to replace staff or an officer availing of special leaves like maternity, gynecological, or sabbatical leave.

“Effective implementation of this policy would strengthen accurate communication of task-relevant information across movements in the organization by ensuring continuity of safe and effective working conditions, particularly to all employees who will be subjected to a corresponding movement like promotion, lateral transfer, and the like.”
